Proof of consent (opt-in) for receiving alarm notifications via Text Messaging CIMTechniques,Inc. provides users with the ability to receive notifications via email by default. As an additional option, users can choose to receive notifications via SMS text messages. This document outlines the opt-in process required for users to receive SMS notifications, ensuring compliance with Twilio’s requirements and industry best practices.

Opt-In Process

1. User Profile Configuration
   
   • Users log into their SmartScan
     account via the web application.
   • Within their profile settings, users
     have the option to enable SMS notifications.
2. Providing a Verified Phone Number
   
   • Users must enter a valid mobile
     phone number in the designated field.
   • To confirm the phone number, users receive a verification code via SMS, which they must enter in the application to verify ownership.
3. Explicit Consent Confirmation
   
   • Before saving their settings, users must acknowledge the following opt-in statement: “By enabling SMS notifications, I consent to receive text messages from CIMTechniques, Inc. for system alerts and notifications. Standard messaging rates may apply.”
   • Users must actively confirm their opt-in by clicking the Save button.
4. User Control and Opt-Out Option
   
   • Users can modify their notification preferences at any time by returning to their profile settings.
   • To opt out of SMS notifications, users simply uncheck the SMS option or toggle it off.

Compliance and Record Keeping

• Each opt-in and verification event is logged with a timestamp in our system database for compliance
  tracking.
• Opt-out requests are immediately processed, and records are updated to ensure users do not receive further SMS notifications unless they re-opt in.
